Text Box: GAME RECAPS

U13 Team vs. B/Brook Raiders– Fri., Sept. 12th
Tonight our U13 team played a fast and exciting game under the lights and a heavy down pour coming down, that lasted the entire game. Before the game even started, our U13 was the underdog, with Amanda out from the start of the season with a broken ankle and now Ashlin suffering from a broken thumb our team was facing a tough challenge. To make thing worse, an unexpected absence in the defense made things more challenging for us coaches as we came up with a starting line-up. The game started fast and physical with sleek field conditions and a constant rainstorm coming down. With just a couple minutes into the game, our defense again suffered another blow when Andy had to come out of the game. Our U13 team battled the entire game with only 2 players on the bench and still was more aggressive than the other team. The game ended 0-0 at the half. As the second half started and after a number of missed shots, Matt had a fast break down the left side of the field and as the opposition closed in, Matt made a beautiful pass to Justin, who did not panic, and controlled the ball, dribbled twice and took a strong shot to beat the B/Brook goalie for a 1-0 lead that lasted the whole game. Congrats to the kids who made it to the game and parents that made it happen. Thanks for coming out and having made it to the game. GREAT JOB U13 TEAM!!! Special mention goes to Nick Miller again for continuing with his strong and secure defensive play. In addition, a special shout out to the entire defense for shutting out the opposition for a third game in a row. Marisol, Nick, Alex and Kyle Brown played an aggressive physical game that did not give any open spaces to the opposition. The officiating left a lot to desire with many questionable calls against our team that could have made the difference, but our kids overcame those “questionable” calls and came out victorious.

AGAIN, I would like to emphasize that absences and injuries will force us coaches to make last minute decisions in the line up. Please remember, you will play were the team and or the coaches need you. No questions asked!

U11 Team vs. LTSC - Saturday, Sept. 6th

The U11 team opened up the season with a big 2-0 win versus a much older and taller LTSC team.  Our U11 team has advanced in ranking this Fall season and although the competition will be tougher, so far our team has showed much improvement. The first goal was scored by a great effort from Daniel Anfield, who previously had had other chances and never gave up,,,,the second goal was scored by Casey Delaney on a great feed by Daniel.  The team had many opportunities to score, but a great effort by the LTSC keeper made the score closer than what it really ended up.  Let’s get back to the practice field and continue with our strong training to prepare again for LTSC next week at their home.

U10 Team vs. Chicago Fire Jrs. - Saturday, Sept. 13th

The U10 Cheetahs took advantage of the rain today and put the “Fire” out!!  Final score was 3-0!!  The final score is misleading; there were many chances to make the lead greater.  The boys are getting better with each game.  Team Captians Timmy Doody and Carlos “Charlie” Zamora played another extremely well and aggressive game.  Charlie’s “Hustle” paid off with a goal today.  Luis “Please kiss my shoes” Gomez scored another two goals.  The U10 Cheetahs got help from Pedro Galvan Jr. who had a beautiful pass/assist to Luis for the first goal of the game.  We have definitely found our All-Star goalies for the year.  Soren and Jake played awesome today, shutting down the competition allowing 0 goals.  Thanks go out to Asst. Coach Dan, Tim and Jim for helping out on the sidelines.  Thanks also go out Pete, Kevin and Rick for stopping by to support the U10 team.  Great job boys!!! No game next weekend.  Next game is against the Panther SC Pursuit at their field in Oswego on Sunday, Sept. 28 @ 10:00 a.m.
